What is she trying to do?

a friend of mine only wants to get together every three month even though we live 10 miles away. so I asked her to be straight with me if she doesn't want to be my friend anymore. she said no, she is not trying to avoid me. I find it hard to believe, I think she is just trying to be polite, what do you think? I plan to have nothing to do with her from now on.
